One gold ring, and the end of almost-jewellery
Less, but better · Jewellery
For years I kept a drawer of almost-jewellery: the earrings that were nearly right, the necklace for an occasion that never came, three rings that each did a fraction of what I wanted. Together they did nothing at all.
So I gave the drawer away and kept one plain gold band, a little heavier than it looks. It goes with the trench and the silk and the grey jumper because it isn't really an accessory anymore — it's just part of my hand.
